Raku Pottery
by Brian Fries
Raku pottery is rooted in Japanese tradition with the addition of Western techniques. Using an exciting rapid fire process featuring much flame and smoke, Western Raku is known for its smoky blacks, crackled whites, and iridescent copper surfaces.

Due to the rapid firing, Raku pottery is not water tight and should only be used as a container for dry items (peanuts, dried flowers), or a water-tight insert (such as a cup) can b used to hold water for fresh cut flowers.
