This is the first CrackPot I created. As is often the case, discovery came from mishap. After accidentally breaking the bisqued vessel, I decided to experiment with the Reassembled Raku process (dubbed "Kraku(tm)" by artist J. Randall Smith, with whom I shared studio space). I was pleased enough with the results that I began using the process intentionally - breaking a perfectly good vessel with a 2-by-4 then individually glazing, Raku firing and reassembling the form. |
